Racist Walmart - See latest example from their Website

Thu Jan 05, 2006 at 03:22:37 PM PDT

What do apes have to do with Dorothy Dandridge?

I find this very offensive: If you click on Planet of the Apes: The Complete TV Series on the Walmart website, the similar items include Dorothy Dandridge, Tina Turner and Martin Luther King. What do these items have to do with Planet of the Apes?

It's not surprising coming from a company that hates gays and sells guns!

The A's said King died at a hospital in nearby San Leandro, three days after undergoing surgery for an injury sustained earlier this year.

Craigslist and a New Journalism

Fri May 06, 2005 at 07:59:25 PM PDT

In today's SF Gate there was an interesting article from an AP reporter on Craig Newmark (founder of Craigslist) and his interest in developing a new "community" based journalism as an alternative to the MSM.  Craigslist has become phenomenally successful with 8 million unique users and more than 2 billion page views per month.

Coulter Moving to Escape Stalkers!!

Tue Apr 26, 2005 at 03:18:06 PM PDT

From Page SixSixSix the word is that:

Conservative columnist, commentator and crack ho Ann Coulter is packing her Louis Vuitton luggage and hauling her bony ass out of NYC. We can all rejoice!

Why is she leaving? And where is she going?

"She is moving because she is terrified of stalkers," said Coulter's agent, Joani Evans. Coulter has stalkers? She should be so lucky!

"These are scary men, creeps," insists her agent. "There was a guy sending her a bouquet every day for six months."

We thought she and Matt Drudge were friends? Oh well.

Coulter bought a new $1.8 million home in tony Palm Beach this month. And, one of her new neighbors is none other than Rush Limbaugh.

We hope they have a proper pill-popping Republican orgy to welcome Annie to the hood. Don't forget to invite Noelle Bush! It'll be hot.

October Surprise Contest

Tue Sep 28, 2004 at 11:57:07 AM PDT

Via Kevin Drum at The Washington Monthly, here's the scoop on  Mark Green's "Name the October Surprise" contest (http://www.nametheoctobersurprise.com/).

From the website:
"Here's the deal: please send me your prediction of a possible and creative October Surprise. It must be described in 100 words or less and there is only one entry per person (also, please summarize it in up to five words in the Subject line). On Wednesday, September 30th, we'll announce preliminary results - e.g., several of the most interesting submissions as well as the volume of similar submissions per surprise. Then on Sunday, October 30, we'll announce the "winners" based on the submission(s) which predicted what actually happened. Winners appear live on Air America to bask in the gratitude of a skeptical nation...and will receive a signed copy of The Book on Bush and cool Air America gear."

Hey Kossacks here is your chance to be on Air America!!!

Fox - Over the Line Again

Fri Sep 10, 2004 at 02:56:42 PM PDT

I was just listening to a Fox host (Judge Napolitano(sp?) argue with a spokesman from the Brady Gun Org. on the Assault Weapons Ban.  The Brady spokesman pointed out that they were not opposed to people being allowed to defend themselves BUT an AK-47 assault weapon was only designed to kill as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. The asshole judge then said "And I suppose if Todd Beamer had one (an AK-47) he wouldn't have been able to defend himself and the others on the plane."  The Brady spokesman was dumbfounded that this Fox host was suggesting that airline passengers should be allowed to carry AK-47 on board to defend themselves against a potential hijacker!!!!  Of course the Judge cut to a commercial before the guest could answer back.

Vietnam Protests

Thu Aug 26, 2004 at 09:48:04 PM PDT

Just some personal memories here about the Vietnam war and how it played out in my family.  In particular I remember coming home from an antiwar march in San Francisco and finding my folks were hosting a party for number of their conservative Republican friends.  This could have been a problem because not only did I go on this march, but I was a student at the time at Berkeley (that commie school) and both my brothers were in Vietnam (one on a missile cruiser off the coast and another was stationed at Cam Rahn Bay).
